An EU Qualified eSeal is a digital signature for businesses, acting as a digital stamp that verifies the sender’s identity and ensures the integrity of the content.
Commfide’s QSeal is recognized throughout the EU/EEA under the eIDAS regulation and carries the same legal validity as a traditional physical stamp.
Common use cases include:
- EPREL registration – For manufacturers registering products in the EPREL database.
- Legally binding digital signing – For documents such as digital diplomas and certificates.
- Electronic invoicing – Signing electronic invoices with full legal validity.
About Commfides qualified eSeal (QSeal)
- Included: QSeal issued on a smart card (QSCD) with accompanying card reader.
- Delivery time: The QSeal is typically produced and shipped within 4 working days after the order has been received and approved.
- Validity: The QSeal is provided under a subscription agreement, which includes maintenance and support. The technical certificate is valid for three years and is automatically renewed and delivered unless the subscription is canceled at least one month before expiry. The subscription can be canceled at any time during its validity.

How does it work?
2. Signing of agreement
An authorized person listed in the company database digitally signs the order agreement, confirming the provided information.
3. Delivery of eSeal and PIN
The QSeal is delivered on a smart card to the registered recipient. The PIN code is sent separately in a secure digital message. The recipient must confirm receipt of both the eSeal and the PIN code.

A qualified eSeal is a digital stamp used by an organization, business or public entity to securely sign documents and data. It serves as a digital proof of origin and integrity, and has the same legal validity as a physical stamp throughout the EU and EEA, according to the eIDAS Regulation.

Yes, the QSeal can be used for a variety of digital needs, including EPREL registration, electronic invoicing and document signing.
Only an authorized signatory or a procuration holder registered in the Brønnøysund Register can sign the order for an EU Qualified eSeal. The approval process for ordering and issuing the eSeal is regulated in accordance with the eIDAS legislation.
The cost is 7,500 NOK / 650 EUR per year.
